The Perfect Church in Jesus Christ (2)
“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ (Jeremiah 6:16)
Do we stop and stand for a moment and fix our eyes on the Lord’s calling? We should look back ourselves whether we fully understand God’s calling, do not compromise with anything, do not change, and stand in a right place where God calls.
For churches that face the crisis, the first thing that they have to look back is whether they stand in firm foundation where God guarantees or they build a house on sand. The Lord said that “Do not build a house on sand.” The Lord said that those who hear the gospel but do not act as the gospel says are like fool, so when they meet crisis, the foundation would be severely destroyed.
Our life is same with it. The Lord said that “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3)
We should look back what the foundation that we rely on and trust is. If we trust whatever as the way that we want, it would be end once the foundation is destroyed. However, the righteous said that “One day when everything shakes and the foundation is destroyed, I will run to the Lord, my refugee.”
Where I put my foundation of my life? Where foundation do churches stand? Are they standing on consensus, the worldly philosophy, or power of some groups?
The Lord firmly said that He never put churches on such foundation. The foundation of church is Jesus Christ who is the everlasting rock. Nothing can be the foundation of church except for Jesus Christ. Church must stand on only Jesus Christ, the gospel of the cross. The church that God dreams of is not a building or an organization, but the gathering whom God called. In other words, the God’s people who are born again as the holy children of God through the cross of Jesus Christ. And the ultimate purpose of vision that God called people is “so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. (Colossians 1:28)
The Church That God Dreams Of Is God’s People Who are Born Again Through The Cross
The church a vital and organic community that is the body of Christ who is the head of the church. God’s calling to the church is that the living power of Christ flows through each person and make them to become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Are we missing this goal? We need to look back whether congregation of churches in Korea are going toward well the goal of God’s calling. The church filled with the congregation who are the living new creation through the true resurrection! The church of the holy congregation of God who defeats the world, painful sins, and ourselves! These are God’s calling to the church. (July, 2018) <Continued> [ Gospel Prayer News]
