The Glory of God, the Word of God (1)

When we look at the world and see the people living in the middle of it, we see no hope anywhere. For in the world, evil is prosperous and injustice is rampant, making a fuss and chaotic. In addition, if we look at human beings, They not only say, “There is no God because we can’t see him.” in covering  up the sky with their palm, but also they spit at the sky with no hesitation. Deny the root and mock the truth. The unrighteousness and corruption of human race that never hesitated such a thing of manipulation and violence, falsehood and lewdness , anti-humanitarian crimes and war, homosexuality, and the corruption of the church.., none of these we could move away. All these world affairs were historic entities which had to be watched and listened to and sighed.

And, in the middle of the world, we look smaller, feel helpless, and feel exhausted. We can’t get rid of the gloomy feeling in front of the huge challenge. However, Do not get caught up in a turbulent world.
We must not stand still at a loss and forgeting what to do, as if watching someone else’s house fire. We must be like the people of heaven(God), and We must be like saints. We must wake up and find what we should do.

Now, let’s turn our eyes to the world and lift our eyes to the heaven/sky. “I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from?” (Psalms 121:1) The writer of this psalm, who was faced with an extraordinary crisis and a difficult situation, does not sink into the incident, but rather reminds his soul instead of being pushed into the situation. He shouts. ” My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” It is a declaration of faith that all things that are happening on this earth are under God’s sovereignty.

” Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these(Isa.40:26a).”  If we are caught up in an incident, we can not afford to have a wide view and a relaxed mind to analyze the situation.  So he says, ‘ Raise your eyes high. ‘ Instead of asking his people to analyze the situation in the face of great despair, he says, ‘ Lift up your eyes on high and see who created all these.’

” The Lord brings out their host by number; he calls them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking(Isa. 40:26b).” There is no event hidden before God. “Why say you, Jacob, and speak, Israel, My way is hid from Yahweh, and the justice due to me is passed away from my God(Isa.40:27)? The LORD, however small he may be, will remember, intervene and help.

We only know that is extremely limited and partial. So to know it  right, we have to start by lifting up our eyes on God, who created everything in heaven and earth (To be continued).
