I will Awake the Dawn(3)
David’s impassioned speech, “I will awake the dawn,” touch our hearts because it is similar to the situation we are in. With the seemingly impossible and endless situations enough to sit down in frustration, there is nothing the church can do. There have been major and minor crises in the nation’s constitutional history, but the current situation we have in and outside now is in such a state of urgency that can’t be compared with any of those before.
In the midst of that terrible time, David the man of God was neither the right wing nor the left wing. He was disliked by both sides. Like David, our fight is abhorrent to both sides. But remember clearly! The true ruler of history is the living God! Socialism refers to religion as ‘people’s opium’. From the beginning, there is no God in it. Nevertheless, the majority of free democracy can’t be the truth either. What David faced was not a political matter. It was a spiritual matter. What makes this land move is a spiritual matter after all. Therefore, Christian, who wakes up and prays, is the last bastion.
Who can give a standard unless the church that has the gospel of Crucifixion and Resurrection?! We have a standard by which we can never compromise or concede. It is the word of God that will never ever change. Therefore, the church, which holds the destiny of history, should wake up at this time of being pressured.
Praying Christian Is the Last Bastion
One can not change the world through political ideological reform. Unless by the history of life, it can’t be changed. The living God laughs at the history of human lives full of ups and downs as if devouring!
“Why do the nations conspire in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.(Psalm 2:1-4, NIV.)
God’s reign extends to all generations wherever the sun’s rays. The kingdom of the Lord is the eternal reality. Therefore only those who believe in the living Lord and those who know the Lord of the history can say, ‘I will wake the dawn,’ without being sunk by the darkness of gloomy despair!
No matter how strong the human king is, the conclusion of history lies with God. King Saul, who fought against the kingdom of God to the end, was demonized and he died mad. Is it just Saul? The end of evil men, such as Hitler, Mao Zedong and the Japanese emperor, who played against God and confused history, were also in the hands of God, the master of life.
Therefore, even in the midst of chaos and darkness, such as doubt, anger, frustration, fear, and the delusion, and being put in a condition out of control, sing bravely like David, the triumph of the kingdom of God like a roaring of lion!
“I will awake the dawn.”
“Justice must win!”
“The evil will inevitably turn out to be evil and be judged!”
