The Perfect Church in Jesus Christ (9)
When believers who met the gospel of the cross, the change inevitably occurs in them. The first change is to yield our sovereignty. Did you yield sovereignty to Jesus Christ? When the gospel of resurrection on the cross of Jesus Christ gives us new life, and Jesus Christ becomes our new master, the change inevitably occurs in our lives.
For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. (Romes 14:17-9)
Those who are born again, met the gospel of the cross and believe in the Lord, live to the Lord; and die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
I am not talking about the improved society nor a transformed sinner. The point is the God reigns the earth. It becomes the heart of God where God reigns and God’s heaven comes to us. The church must not back down from there. If the church moves this signpost, they will become corrupted and degenerate.
The Lord said that we cannot follow the Lord without changing our sovereignty.
Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23)
The second change is to change our hearts that was originally enemies with God. The characteristic of our old selves are ‘only love ourselves, love sick ourselves’ It may cause selfness, self-pity, and eventually fall into depression and suicidal thoughts.
Moreover, it causes us to live in fear of other’s recognition and reputation that makes us not to escape from these. It is spiritual sickness and it ultimately leads us self-worship. The gospel of the cross solves this problem. The key to change people is the only gospel of the cross.
Lastly, we need to change the subject of love. The energy of love is amazing. When we love, we are never tired. When we love, we want to be equal with the lover. Those who are born again through the gospel learn what their sins are and what God’s love is, and they never give themselves over to sin again. Also, when we give ourselves to the Lord, we love Jesus not ourselves.
If anyone does not love the Lord–a curse be on him. Come, O Lord! (1 Corinthians 16:22)
A person who changes the object of his love to the Lord becomes the life of Jesus, experiences his own transformation, and only love the truth. This is what a new Christian looks like. Our original soul and spirit enjoy true freedom within the truth and walk within the truth. (2018, July) <Continued> [GPNEWS]
