Suusamyr Plateau is the high reaches in Kyrgyzstan, 90% of which consists of mountains. It is summer pasture for nomads which is situated 2,000 meters above sea level and also the Suusamyr river belongs to this pasture. The weather is unpredictable here: It is clear and soon becomes overcast. There was no exception on the day. It was sunny and clear, but soon got cloudy and drizzled. And finally above my head came a rainbow.
God judged all living creatures by using a flood in Noah’s age. After the cataclysm, He created a rainbow and made a everlasting covenant with Noah and all the other creatures that He had allowed to survive: “never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.”
Through the rainbow, He showed that His will was related not only to the judgment but also to the salvation as He did through Noah who discovered God’s mercy in His eye during the judgement. God has remembered this covenant and kept it. God sent Jesus Christ to us to achieve the everlasting covenant that He will not destroy us forever. [gnpnews]
“I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh”(Genesis 9:13~15 – NASB)
